Questions on Orders
When will my order be shipped?
Once your order is placed, I get to work on it straight away. Since I source each piece individually rather than keeping a warehouse full of stock, it typically takes 3–5 business days before your tracking number is ready. I know that's a little longer than hitting "dispatch" on a shelf — but it's also how I make sure every piece that leaves here is one I'd keep myself.
You'll get an order confirmation right away, and your tracking number the moment your parcel is on its way.
Can I modify or cancel my order after placing it?
Please reach out as soon as possible — the sooner the better. Once I've started processing your order, changes become very difficult, and once a tracking number has been issued, I'm no longer able to make any adjustments or cancellations. This is why it's worth taking a moment to double-check your shipping address before you complete checkout.
The fastest way to reach me is Instagram DMs: @cyrenebyelsie, or email info@cyrenebyelsie.com. I'll always do my best to help within whatever window we have.
Questions on Shipping
Do you ship overseas?
Yes, we ship to select international destinations. You can view the full list of countries we currently serve by checking the country/region selector at the bottom of our website.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes — free shipping on every order, everywhere. No minimum, no fine print.
How long does delivery take?
International shipping takes a bit of patience — most orders arrive within 15–20 days. It's not the fastest, but every piece is packed carefully and on its way to you. You'll get a tracking number so you can follow along.
Will I receive a tracking number?
Always. Once your order ships, I'll send your tracking number right over. It can take a couple of days to show movement, so don't worry if it looks quiet at first.
And you can track your parcel anytime using the Track Your Order link in the footer of our website.
Do I have to pay customs or import duties?
Shipping is on us, always. That said, if your country's customs decide to charge import duties, that part falls to you — it's out of our hands. It doesn't happen often, but I'd rather you know upfront than be caught off guard.
Returns & Exchanges
How do I return my jewelry?
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery, as long as the item is unworn and in its original condition.
If there's a quality issue with your piece, please send me a photo within 48 hours of receiving your order and I'll cover the return shipping and make it right.
If you'd like to return for personal reasons — change of mind, doesn't suit you — that's completely fine, but return shipping costs will be on you.
Either way, please reach out before sending anything back so we can sort out the details together.
What if my item arrives damaged?
Every order is packed with care — damage in transit is rare, but if it does happen, please take a clear photo and message me within 48 hours of receiving your order. I'll cover the return shipping and arrange either a replacement or a full refund, whichever you prefer.
Products & Care
Are the pearls real freshwater pearls?
Yes, every pearl in Cyrene is a genuine freshwater pearl, sourced from Zhuji — the world's largest freshwater pearl region, about two hours from my base in Shanghai. And because I go there myself, I get to be as picky as I want — I only bring back pieces with strong luster, clean surfaces, and that certain something that made me stop and look twice. Getting to do that in person is honestly one of my favourite parts of this whole thing.
Do the pearls come with a certificate?
Grading certificates are typically reserved for high-value saltwater pearls — for freshwater pearls at this price point, it's not standard practice in the industry and wouldn't add meaningful value for you. What matters more is knowing what to look for, and I'll be sharing more about that on the blog and Instagram down the line.
Will the 925 silver tarnish over time?
It can — that's just the nature of sterling silver.
The best thing you can do for silver is actually wear it regularly — the natural oils from your skin help keep it looking its best.
If it does start to dull, a little plain toothpaste (non-whitening, non-abrasive) gently rubbed on with a soft cloth, then rinsed clean and dried thoroughly, will bring it right back.
Store pieces somewhere dry and away from perfume and chemicals, and they'll last you a long time.
How should I care for my jewelry?
A few small habits make a big difference — put your jewelry on last when you're getting ready, and take it off before showering, swimming, or working out. Store pieces separately so they don't scratch each other, and keep them away from direct sunlight.
For pearls specifically, avoid contact with perfume, hairspray, and anything acidic — pearls are delicate and chemicals will dull their surface over time. Put them on last, take them off first.
For silver, a gentle wipe with a soft cloth after each wear really does keep it looking its best.
About Cyrene
Where is Cyrene by Elsie based?
Cyrene is based in Shanghai. I run it entirely on my own — sourcing, selecting, and shipping every piece myself. Everything in the shop has been personally selected — some pieces are from independent Chinese designers whose work I believe in, some are my own designs, and everything else has been carefully sourced for its quality and character. The price I pay for a piece before it even gets to you reflects that — I'm not here to move volume, I'm here to find things worth keeping.
How can I contact you?
Instagram DMs are the fastest — @cyrenebyelsie. I read and reply to everything myself, usually within 24 hours. For order-related things, email works too: info@cyrenebyelsie.com.
Do you do collaborations or wholesale?
I'm open to it, as long as it feels like a genuine fit. Send me an email at info@cyrenebyelsie.com with a bit about who you are and what you have in mind — I'd love to hear from you.
